Today Isabella asked me a question I seriously never was prepared to answer " mommy what is a "tummy tuck". I quickly turned around in the car and there was my precious 3 year old starring back at me waiting for answer to this question. I asked Isabella "what did asked mommy", hoping that perhaps I heard the question wrong or praying that she had forgotten that quickly what she had she asked me. Isabella in her ligh little minnie mouse voice repeated anxiously "mommy a tummy tuck what is that". We had just pulled up the park so I got Isabella and I both out of the car knelt down and said " a tummy tuck is when an older person has a doctor fix there stomach". I honestly had no clue how to answer that question without sounding completely vain. She kind of looked at me funny and said "ok" and hurried along to the play ground.
I sat there on the park bench laughing inside as I recounted the question that was just laid before me by my three year old. I kept thinking... how did she know to ask me that question? When suddenly a light bulb went on in my head, Dr. 90210. The night before Isabella had been restlessly sleeping and after about the 4th time of her waking up I just decided to bring her down stairs with me as I finished watching TV. I rocked her back asleep on my lap, and then I turned on no other than "Dr.90210". I think the topic that night was "tummy tucks and lip augmentations".
As I sat there on the park bench thinking about what started as a funny mommy moment, I suddenly started feeling like a total loser mom. I should have known that Isabella wasn't fully asleep and probably was even faking just so she could watch TV. I should of known that even if she had been asleep turning on a show where doctors are placing fake boobs, new lips, and new tummy's on people probably isn't the best thing to watch with a sleeping child in the room.
So I figure for me the moral of this story is "little ears are always listening"....
Lord, I give you all the glory and praise for my life and the life of Isabella. I thank you for Isabella's amazing spirit and her wild imagination!

It's so true that our kids are ALWAYS listening and ALWAYS watching us to see how we live our lives. It is not the "talks" that we have with them that they will remember, but how we lived out each day! Sounds like a great lesson for a great mom - I love you!
Oh wow! This is so funny!
Heather's comment is so true!
I love that picture of Bella! She's such a free-spirited little one!
