Lions, Tigers and Bears oh my!!

Today we went to the zoo with my Lesley and Titus. I have never seen the Zoo that packed, the parking lot was completely full so they had a shuttle service set up about a mile or two away. So we loaded all up in a school bus and were shuttled to the zoo. I think if we had done nothing more than that simple bus ride the kids would of thought that was a great day. I don’t know what it is with kids and school buses but children seem so entertained by rickety old yellow buses.

Isabella and Mommy (on the school bus)
Even the though the zoo was extremely busy it wasn’t overwhelming at all and the kids at a blast. It seemed like half the exhibits (the bears, lions, tigers,) were closed due to new construction, which for me tad was disappointing seeing how those are the animals I actually anticipate to see. But the kids didn’t seem to mind and moved on quickly once told those animals weren’t at the zoo today. There was however the new baby elephant that had just recently been born but the line to see the baby and other elephants was over an hour long so we decided to skip that exhibit all together.

The kids were great the whole day and as usual when together Isabella & Titus are nonstop action. Titus is hysterical he would get to an exhibit take a small look at the animal and then say “ I want to see something else”, whereas Bella would take her time checking out each animal as if time stood still. I can tell already my little girl is a going to be a great window shopper when she is older.
We stay for a few hours and when we saw that the kids were at their tired point (us too) we left. Got on the little old bus and headed back to the cars (which by the way our bus driver on the way back was a sweet lady with no upper teeth, eating a bag of cheetoo’s, blasting her country music while singing along shamelessly to wonderful sound of “Wynona Judd”…..

Isabella got in the car and told me “thank you mommy for the day at the zoo, I had a great time”. Those are the little moments when you look back at your child and think “wow being a mom is awesome”.
